Baby Opossums

Taken from the pouches of their dead mothers.  Many manage to survive being hit by cars or having their mothers killed by dogs.  These were eventually released back into the wild.

The single most important ingredient to raising healthy opossums is DIET. Unfortunately, there's a lot of misinformation out there. There are websites telling people that if they feed opossums cat food, it will kill them. Totally absurd!!

Think about it. They eat carrion. Simple common sense should tell anyone that they need a balanced diet, and that is canned cat food, or dry cat food, moistened. If they do not get the proper diet, then they will most certainly get Metabolic Bone Disease and will eventually die or have to be euthanized.

Want a second opinion? Contact your nearest zoological park and they will tell you the same thing.
